Moss Vale. [Newspaper Article] — Robertson Advocate — 22 April 1898

Moss Fale. The reply of the Railway Commis sioners to tbe council's request for the performance of certain works, is far from satisfactory. ' The culvert.carry ing the waters of White's Creek is manifestly insuffioieut in flW time. The rare occurrence pf floods or the expenditure involved does not remote the necessity and responsibility. The propoMd improvement of the sanitary arrangemeuts at the railway station does not go far enough, and will not help to ozonise the odour at the Lackey Road bridge, caused by the unhealthy drainage discharge from the station. The refusal to erect a water trough in the railway yards is a paltry piece of economy at the expeose of the best cuBtoraeraof the rail way. The suffer ing thirst of country teams ought to appeal to the fellings of the Commis sioners. Even stray, non-travelling dogs may drink at the foot of the fountains on most railway stations. The Fir* Brigade have got permis sion to use the railway paddock for practice purposes and are than...
