On Tuesday last (Boxing Dav) 1 took ad vantage of the very propitious weather for a day's outing, and onnsequent upon the only sports of the day being held on the racecourse proceeded to that plane, where our looal Firs Bri gade were celebrating the holiday. Whilst there I thotiirht fit to tsko a ride on horsebnek. In doing so I was riding in the direction of the grand stand from the J-mile post in a fast gallop, and upon oomlng in the straight a very conspicuous member of the Brirade ran up to meet my horse and deliberately waved a ftnokot hand kerchief in hit horse's face. Natu rally enough the horse propped sud denly and swerved, throwing me veiy violently to the ground. I need not tell you I was very much shale tn. Upon ri'ing and hrnshing what dntt I...

BARMSDMAN. December 22nd, 1682. [Newspaper Article] — Temora Herald and Mining Journal — 29 December 1882

BARMSDXAN. (FBOM OUR OWtf C0RBK8P0HDRK1.) December '22nd, 1882. Some little interest has been exoited in Barmedman by the news of a new reef having been discovered south east of the Half-way House, on the Temora-road. The new find is said to he four or five miles from the Half way House, and Mt Marshall informs me that' he intends to run the coach past die new find during the journey toand from Temora. Tbeprospeotors are Conway and party, and the reef was about 8in. wide in the first in stance, but there 'is now a greater width of stone reported. Very nice specimens have been brought to Bar medman. A reef has been openod w'tliin a few hundred yard* of Morelli's houso at the Hard to Find, This is on the eastern slope of the ridge on which the lease is situated. A little gold has been obtained in tnis spot previously, and the prospectors were simply biding their time till it was convenient to test the ground. Murray and party have taken up this reef, and two other claims are pegged on...
