LATEST INTELLIGENCE. Sydney. . ? . Saturday. a. large number of representatives of tbe Federal party and others met yesterday, Dr. Warren presiding. Sir Henry Parkes said lie would be pleased Do seek exclusion from next Parliament, but he had consented to contest King Division owing to the general support offered him by all sections of the community. He said that Mr. Reid's demo cratic reforms were attempts to blind and delude the people, and if tne reforms were carried, the Upper House would become a corrupt instrument in the hauds of profli gate Ministers. The Premier had prosti tuted the press of the country, for now we were without a free and independent press. He had entered the contest, and would fight hard for victory with all the strength tuat God gave him, and unless the people had greatly degenerated lie would win the elec tion easily.
