There appears to be a great change   looming in the distance for the various Municipal Councils in this district. The Bulleen Council has initiated a   movement for the division of the shire   which will, it is anticipated, take place in August. The shire will be divided, and what is known as the Doncaster Riding will be formed into a separate shire. There can be no doubt but that this is a step in the right direction, and that the rate-   payers will be greatly benefitted by it. As the shire is at present constituted, some of the ridings are antagonistic, and what tends to benefit one portion   is not for the advancement of other   parts of the shire. Then, again, the members for the Doncaster Riding cannot work in unison with the re- presentatives of the other two ridings, consequently when the division takes place this difficulty will be overcome.
