IFC Caterers Adopt File Plan {Enlarging a file system, started by the PSCA, for persons available as fraternity waiters or kitchen help was" decided at the second meeting of the Caterers Association of the Penn State Interfraternity Council held at Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity last night according to Andrew P. Szekely '42, vice-president. _Rbbert Gammon '43, secretarytreasurer, - was appointed chairman of the committee to handle the file system and will be aided by Mark E. Singley '42, and| Donald H. Lane '42. The revised file system will have individual cards for each applicant who turns his name into Student Union. The committee will then try and place each "individual when vacancies appear in the fraternities. The plan is expected to be in operation within the next week or ten days. A constitution, drawn up last year and read to the organization at the last-meeting, was approved by the group. IPC has consented to finance the initial expenses for the caterers. Herbert C. Phi Kappa Sigma Estimates $3,000 Fire Damage Damages .amounting to $3,000, from a fire which broke out during a pledge dance at the Phi Kappa Sigma fraternity shortly after 1 o'clock Saturday morning, was estimated yesterday toy ' Thomas F. Beck '42, president of the fraternity. A side-porch, ten pieces of house furniture, and woodwork, were ignited when discarded piles of corrrstalks on their east porch caught fire. The cornstalks were part of the pledge dance decorations. The flames spread to the furniture, which 'had been placed on the porch, and finally to the porch itself. The most plausible solution for the fire's-origin, according to Beck, was that a cigarette probably had been thrown into the cornstalks. The pledge dance was ending when the fire was discovered. Members of the fraternity formed a bucket brigade and used a fire "extinguisher to hold the flames under control until the Alpha Fire ¦Company arrived.
