No sooner does the market assume firmness and a tendency to advance than some untoward and unlooked for circumstance develops to adversely affect It . Thus the last two or three days of the previous week there was a considerable inherent flrmness developed , the shorts ran to cover quite freely , some of the more influential operators turned from the beai to the bull side , and the trade generally confidently anticipated there was to be an upturn of perhaps 3650 . per bushel , the long side being much in favor .
