The Relation of Invention to babov , and ts _Thefe a Solution of the _Uabov Question ? TWO LCCIURES I 1 Y HON . CARKOLL B . WRIGHT . The period of modern invention may be said to have begun in 1740 with new appliances for weaving cloth rapidly , so that one man could use two or three times as much yarn as formerly . There is no solution so long as men aspiic , but the stiuggle for better things may be softened . Legislation has been ti ted but has failed . Sometimes wheie there is mutual trust and confidence between employers and employees the questions at issue have been satisfactorily settled . The JWusieal Clubs Tf ip . On Saturday last our Musical Clubs returned from a very pleasant and successful trip which embraced four days . On Wednesday morning the party , consisting of nineteen men , started for Newport . Upon arriving at their destination the boys were cordially received and escorted to their hotel . After a very successful conceit in the evening , the ladies of the town gave a reception to the boys in the hotel parlors . The remainder of the evening was , of course , very pleasantly spent . The following morning the party reluctantly bade farewell to Newport and the Newport girls , and set out for Millersburg . The trip to the latter place uas short but filled with some interesting incidents . Here all were received in royal style and conducted to their respective places of entertainment . The Millersburg people proved themselves to be excellent entertainers , and showed the boys a good old time . In the evening the Clubs performed before a large and appreciative...
