8 Little Farm Helps X [Newspaper Article] — Farm Press — 1 March 1908

8 Little Farm Helps X A POETABLE DIPPING TANK A dipping tank ol some kind is necessary on every farm . The one shown in the out is convenient because it may be moved to the different pens for use and stored- away between times . It is made shorter on the bottom to save in the quantity of dipping material necessary . It may be made of rough boards , and galvanized iron is the best lining . Have the seams lapped an inch and riveted with small tinned rivets and have the solder well sweated through the lap by using large soldering coppers that hold the heat well . Double seaming in a tank like this doesnt work well , as the solder breaks in the seam , and because of rust it cant be easily resoldered . PLANT PBOTECTOB A protector for lettuce or other tender plants from intense heat may be made with a screen of cheesecloth tacked onto a wooden frame . Each corner is fastened to an upright piece of lath about eie-hteen inches lonre . sharpened at the lower end so tbe legs may be pressed in...
