Starkb was born in this city, March 10th, 186S, and died Friday, April 3rd 19C8. He was therefore 43 years and 24 days of age. He is sur vived by his wife, mother and, fine sister. Sam Starks as a boy attended the public. schools of Charleston, and obtained a common school ed ucation. During his school years he was a cooper apprentice, work ing in the shops beyond Elk. Af ter leaving school he followed the cooper's trade for a short time, but becoming dissatisfied, obtain ed a placs in the office of the K. & M. Railway.
