Ruins In Mexico. Col. D. S. Miles of the U. S. Army, writes to the Maryland Historical Society, that, extraordinary ruins have been found on the site of Gran Quivira; by an old man named Campbell, who was digging for treasures. Front existing indications, the city was at leant three mil us in length, and a half a mile or more in breadth; some of the houses still in part standing, und built of hewn atone. He commenced excavating where he saw evidence of a temple in hopes of finding treasured. Jenny Lind and her Otto. We published an extract from a New Orleans paper recounting the domestic afflictions of Jenny Lind, and that a reparation had been agreed upon. The following extract from the lady herself to her friend, the Swedish Consul in New York, is published in the N. Y. Evening Post. It presents a more pleasant picture than the other. The letter is dated 10th. February, 1853: "We are, God he thanked! well. ARRIVAL OF THE OHIO. The Ohio, Captain Briggs, arrived at San Pedro on Monday, bringing San Francispo dates to the 8th inst. We cut the following from the San Francisco Herald of the 2d : A hostile meeting took place, about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, between the Hon Wm M. Gwin and the Hon J. W. WcCorkle, in consequence as we learn of certain offensive remarks made by the latter while on the race course. — The ground selected was just this side of the boundary line between San Francisco and Santa Clara Counties, but on receiving intelligence that some interference was to be looked for the parties proceeded to a spot about three miles 'the other side of the line. McCorkle won the choice of position and the word. The weapon selected was the rifle, distance thirty paces, the combatants to wheel at the word and' fire.
