In. in the Sandwich Islands. Our latest dates aro to Jan. 12. We find nothing of interest in the newspapers received. A general Thanksgiving was observed all over the kingdom on Monday, Dec. 31st. A severe gale visited the different Islands of the Hawaiian group during .the latter part of Dec. last. At Muni, a private letter states: "We had a terrible kona on Friday lust ; 20 houses wore ldown down at this place, 2") at Waihee, and v like proportion all amund. The trees have been stripped, and look liko winter." Another correspondent, at Makawao, says : "Last week it commenced, the wind blowing exceeding strong, which did more damago to sugar cane and buildings than any single storm 1 have known on the island. A great quantity of cane ha» boon prostrated. In one field the cane ■was not only blown down, but was broken, much of it into three pieces. From Orenon. Wo make a few extracts from the Ongon Spectator, of Dectmbcr 27, which will bo read with, interest. Thia is the only newspaper received by a late arrival, and wo acknowloge our indebtedness to a passenger hy ship Helen Feidler for the same. Ur*at Freshet. — The recent heavy fall of snow has gone off with torrents of continued Tain, and the consequenco is that the Willamette has not been so high as at present for the last five years. All tho smaller rivers, tributaries of the Willamette, are rushing down from the mountains with their foaming floods, and occasioning a great destruction of property. Already have we learned that the milk and lumber at Clackamas city have been swept away. Lops not less than $75,000. The mill-dam, recently erected on Tualatin river, by Messrs: Moore &amp;amp; Bird, is greatly damaged.
