Some lime ago Evans wein to the poor man's hut, robbtd him, and r-eat him almost to death. For this-of- fence he was tried, found guilty, and sent to one of the penal settlements. Having returned to Hobart Town, on Sunday n:ght the 10th of last month he canied his malicious levenge so far as to go to Payeis's hut a second time, and, «liter bealing him and another aged in- valid in a most inhuman manner, robbed him of some money, aud threatened to cut his head clean off, and to burn the hut.
