ALBURY STOCK MARKET. Messrs. Younghusband and Co. Limited report ; — We report having held our usual fort nightly market at the Albury Municipal Yards on Wednesday, 29th January, when we yarded 200 fat and store cattle, 2000 fat and store sheep, to fair attendance of buyers. Sheep were about equal to last market rates, but cattle showed a slight decline. Fat Cattle.— Be3t bullocka from £4 to £5 4s., others from £2 10s to £3 12s 6d ; best cows from £2 103 to £3 23 6d, others from £2 to £2 10s ; vealers from 12a 6d to 20s. Store Cattle.— Very few yarded. Steers, 2 and 3 years, at . 27s ; cows and yonng cattle were almost unsaleable owing to the dry state of the country. Pat. J. G. SHIELDS AND CO.'S REPORT. Wodonga Market. Messrs. J. G, Shields and Co. report hold ing Wodonga market in their yards on the 21st inst., the attendance being about equal to pre vious sales, whilst competition was much keener. They yarded about 350 cattle of all classes, fat bullocks making up to £5 10s ; fat cowa £4 ; fat heifers from £2 upwards, vealera making up to 35s ; store bullocks, in forward condition, making £4 ; young hullocks from £3 3s upwards ; store cowa from 36a, yearlings and young cattle from 10s to 17s. They yarded about two thousand sheep, and cleared nearly every lot, ft wethers making 6s 7d ; fat ewes from 4s to 6d ; merino ewes at 2a 3d, weaners from 2s lOd to 49 ; cross bred rama at 11s. Another important speech on England s foreign relations was delivered last night by Mr. Chamberlain, the Secretary of State for tbe Colonies. He declared that the enmity to England ?which had recently been shown in such an unexpected manner by Germany has de termined England to greatly strengthen her defences. Eeferrlng to the dispute with the United States about the Venezuelan diffi culty, he said that America ras rightly attached to the Monroe doctrine, which was not disputed by England.
