A Court of Petty Sessions was held at tho Courthouse, Mittagong, on Monday, for the purpose of hearing appeals against assess ments. Moss Vale €otmci3. At a special meeting of tho council held in the Council Chambers on Friday evening last tho Mayor (Aid N. H. Throsby, J.l\) presided. There wore also present — Aid. H. Taylor, J. Adams, H. Rich ardson, H. C. Ro3e, nnd D. McGregor. Thobuat nesa to be dealt with v/ao tho valuator's report which appeared in our icauo of tho 15th inot. The reductions in values wero altogofcher about £50 below those of last year. Aid Richardson moved that the valuator's report ao read bo received aud mado an order of tho day for next meeting. This was seconded and carried. The suggestions by tho valuators that n3 Throsby-strcot and Throsby.road tended to create confusion as to each, the latter be J altered to IIcrbcrt.3trcct in houor of the Mayor was left over to be dealt with by the full council at next meeting, AM. Richardson considered that other streets where tho namo was similar might receive fresh nomenclatural attention. The Council then adjourned.

I could point out that tho butter cloth was not tho very finest and does not appear to have been well scalded before lminiT. You would do well perhaps to use parchment paper all round tho butter, putting a very little fine salt powdered on top, as you have dono with this lot. It helps to make them open up bush.
