The first term of Grenfell Quarter Sessions was held on Saturday last, Forty-eight jurymen had been summoned, and nearly all answered to their names. Mr. C. E. Murray prosecuted for the Crown, and Messrs, Scarvell and Russell, solicitors from Young were m attendance. During the day Mr. Dalton, P.M.; of Forbes, and Messrs. Wood, Watt, and Pyne, Js'.P. occupied seats on the bench. : ATTEMPTING TO OBTAIN GOODS UNDER FALSE ' , rriETF.N: ES. A young jjirl, 12 years old, by name of Elizabeth. The Russian Government has ordered a new military levy of 220,000 men. -

GRENFELL QUARTER SESSIONS:1 (Before His Honor Judge Forbes.) . Monday, June 11. ; r 5 SIIEEP STEALING. Henry Harley and wife were charged as above, and there was a second count charging them with receiving. Mr. Hussell appeared for the defence ; both prisoners pleaded Not Guilty. The following jury was emnannellfid ?_ John Glynn, Edwin Warton, Alexander Meldrum, Mathias Teston, A. LI. Eastori Andrew Dunn, Wm. Lawson, John M'lver' Robert Clifton, R. Mackenzie, Wm. Walsh,' and John Simpson. Twenty-four jurors were withdrawn, six teen being challenged by the Crown, and others by defendant's counsel. The charge was, stealing 27 ebeep, on May 6th, the property of John Newman. Mr. Murray, Crown Prosecutor, stated that prisoners were residing near Mr. New man's, who is a grazier. Mr. Newman had lost sheen, and it would appear that those missing sheep, or snrao of them, had been seen amongst the sheep of prisoners. There wero prosont betweon forty and fifty gentlemen, and wo know of several who reside at some dintancc from Grenfoll who wore solely prevented attonding on, account' of the threatening aspect of the Weather.
