' On Wednesday afternoon last an exhibition of the 'Climax' spray pump took place in tho orchard of Alderman Taylor at M033 Vale, by Mr.A. H.Benson, from the Department of Agriculture. There were present— Mr. J. Yeo, as representing tho Bernma District Agricultural Society, Messrs. J. A. Bad gery, T. W. Lackey, J, Lansdown, I. S. Ponder, Alderman Taylor, and others interested in fruit growing. Mr. Benson went through ovcry little dotail in explaining how to prepare and use the various, remedies which tho department have by experiment and investigation found most valuable. Ho treated of theapple scab or ' Tasmanian black spot,' which is a disease ot iunguo origin, uor inis disease Mr. Benson recommended to spray with ammonio-carbonate of copper, or Bordeaux mixture.
