STONEMASONS' AWARD The Stonemasons' (State) Conciliation Com mittee varied the Stonemasons' Award last week 'to apply to men employed on the Har bour Bridge. It is provided that all work done on the bridge 150 feet and up to 175 feet above the datum level of the bridge shall be paid for at the rate of 4-Ad. an hour extra. A further rate of 4-Ad. an hour extra is payable for all Work done on the bridge 175 feet or over above the datum level of the completion of the bridge. This includes the r^-ipletion of the pylons, It is stipulated that these rates have been fixed in' view of the special facts existing in respect of the bridge; and arc not to be taken or used as' a precedent, or as haying any im portance or relation 1o any work other than that done on the bridge. The variation takes effect as from September 1, 1930.
