My viait to Cleveland, Toledo and Chicago, furohhed evidence of great business activity ia those places. Especially are tba railroads and lines of laka transportation crowded with freights. Crops ia Ohio, Iudiao, and Illinois prom ised an abundant yield, as they did in tLis State. Bat a drouth of great severity prevails at this writing. If no rain falls within week, scriuns damage to corn sast easue. Winter and spring wheat are beyond injury from this cause, although complaints are mad, hero and there, of ravages by insects. I can not omit saying that 1 deem Ibis " God's country," espe cially for the poor man. Money is plenty, nd a good demand for farm products exist. Wheat is 90 cents per bushel. Oats 50 cents.
