THE DAILY RECORD-UNION WEPXESPAT.:.'.".V.?.':?.:£ AIJCPaT 4. IhW. The Debt of Mexico. — Mexico, though one of the richest of countries in latent re sources, is yet one of the poorest in real ized wealth. Mexico owes to European creditors in bonds and other obligations §125,000,000, and to the United States about $2,700,000. No part of the prin cipal of this European debt has been paid daring the last twenty years, nor has any interest been paid since 1861. For a country of such immense natural resources this might not be considered a formidable debt, were it not for the small amount of industrial development. There are probably single mines in Mexico which would yield an amount equal to the entire indebtedness of that country.
