Suppose, for the sake of an illustra tion, we accept as .true what Mr. Lamb contends for in his editori als of Friday and Monday, vie thai a year ago he was for disfranchising the "leading rebels," but none others. Let as see whether he now holds even half way position. He now thinks?as he told us in his article of Friday, and re peated in that of yesterday?that it is "impossible to devise any feasible or " jnst plan of discriminating between " the leaders and their victims." All must be dealt with alike. Of course then he holds that all must be excluded alike, and that the few "poor Trays" among them must pay the price of bav ing been caught in bad company, as "poor Trays" have always had to do, from time immemorial and |the world over. Certainly; this is the rule, be cause "the greatest good to the greatest j " number" is the doctrine laid down in j the "address." By no means?"on the j...

SflbJMAltQMttV. CAMPBELL, PBEW & CO. EDITORS A.VD PROPRIETORS. ~ FRIDAY ?QgyiXU, MARCH 21. The "Address" recently issued, by some two or three gentlemen residing in this city, who have not been having their way for sometime, is in respect to the coolness of its assumptions, a strong document. Accept the premises of the "Address" and we should declare ? withonf hesitation that wrong is right and black is white. The ground on which the sophistries of this ingenious paper are constructed, is that the per sons who left their homes in our midst nnd embarking in the rebellion waged a : cruel war against us for the overthrow j of the Government, did no wrong le gally, were guUty of nocrime morally, I and have given us no reason to abate confidence in their fidelity 10 the Gov # ?*rnnieofc, naiional and State.
