LOCAL MATTERS. Alcalde's Court. — An altercation took place on Friday last, between Michael Foley and Francis Guerrero Prefect at the Mission, in which the latter struck Foley with a sword, which cut him severely. Officer Mullen arrested Guerrero, and brought him before his Honor Judge Geary.who after hearing; the case, ordered the costs of court to be paid by Guerrero, and give bail in the sum of $1000 to keep the peace for one year, and discharged. Whig Proceedings in San Francisco.— A large and spirited whig meeting was held on Friday evening Feb. 10th at the American Hotel, responsive to a call i., nominate a whig candidate for shorifl. 11. K. W. (lark called the ting to order and nominated Join J. H hi Piry for chairman and Edward I. Fletcher and I, ParKons were appointed secretaries.
