Now, over ISO years later, a de- scendant of the Baron de Bastrop, the "mysterious Dutchman" for whom tne citv and countv are named, will visit Bastrop during Homecoming next month. J. Nering Bogel is touring the U.S. and Canada during the sum- mer, and plans to arrive in Bastrop on August 4. Bogel wrote a letter earlier this year from his home in the Nether- Countv Judge Jack. Gries- enbeck. inquiring about the statue which stands on the lawn of the county courthouse, depicting the Baron de Bastrop.
