SEPT 1Q82 SACH8E,TEXAS THE 8ACHSE SENTINEL PAGE S GISD Board Tax Increase The Board declared its intent to increase taxes by 5.12% for the 1982-83 school year. The increase is necesary to operate the district in a fiscally sound manner for the upcoming school year. An increase in utilities, insurance, and other fixed costs constitutes 1,3 million dollars of the 1982-83 budget which represents over 3C of the tax rate increase. Last year's rate was $1.30 per $100 valuation. Since the property in the district has been reap- praised by the Dallas County Appraisal District during the past year, an equivalent tax rate of 6469c per $100 valua- tion is needed to produce the same tax dollars collected in 1981-82. If passed, the new tax rate will be 68c per $100 valua- tion. In accordance with Texas statutes, Trustees will hold a public hearing on Friday, Au- gust 27, 1982, at 8:00 a.m., in the Board Room for the pur- pose of hearing citizen input regarding the tax proposal. North Side Sharpe...

"Their last chance was last Saturday. We have given seven months grace to some games in this state, making sure they had every chance the law allows to get legal. We intend to file gaming charges against those who have not fully com- plied with the law. Most lawngrasses exist in a crowded environment compet- ing with each other for water and nutrients. This struggle for nourishment necessitates the addition of fertilizers to provide extra sustenance required for healthy growth. For optimum results, fer- tilizer should be applied in Sep- tember to build up the roots for sprouting in spring, and again in April to thicken the growth and enhance color.
