As we discuss this quesiton, we must recognize that there are two kinds of music-vocal and in- strumental or mechanica...

Page 14 Feature Section Teacher's bad grammar cause for concern By W'illard Abraham, Ph.D. Copley News Service Q. It is really a shock to have one of our children with a teacher in school whose grammar, both oral and written, is atrocious. Our son is in fifth grade, and I honestly feel that his is better than hers To have her say or write, "be- tween him and I," "the data is," "they was," and a lot more like that is really offensive to me. Her punctuation is all messed up too, including the misuse of commas, periods, exclamation points and semicolons. She is a nice person who tries hard to teach, so 1 don't want to hurt her feelings. However, her ig- norance is unbelievable. What diplomatic approach can I use? A. If you have a friendly rela- tionship. a direct approach might work out, using as non-threatening a manner as possible. If comfort- able for you. and if she actually seeks assistance, it may even be appropriate to help her do better in this area. After all, learning to cope...
