KINGLAKE EAST. 0 The annual pic.nic in conaertion with Kinglake S.S No. 2188 (Mrs. Parmenter'e) took place on the 27th ult. on the cricket ground, Steel's Oreek. The day was beautifully finue, and everything passed off moat successfully. The refreshments, which were of first-quality, were suppliedhby Mlesdames Lawrsy, Wright, Orchard, M'Mahoa,'Thbomson, Mille, and others. There was a large attendance of visitors and children, which was further aug mtunted by the children of the Steel's Creek school, who, with their teacher and his friends, were invited to take part. The prizes for the children's races were of a useful and varied character, and were mtuch admired. At the conolusion each child attending Kinglake school was presented with a handsome book. Much praise is due to the committee and Mr. M'Auliffe (teacher of Kinglake West) for their kindaess and energy on the occasion.
