Nervousness, Debility, Loss of Power, Sperma- torrhoea, Indiscretions of Early Youth. -Syphi- litic Diseases. In all the above cases, " arising from errors and the yielding to the passions.'" no time should be lost to at once arrest the progress of disease. DR. L. L. SMITH HAS devoted himself for twenty years in the colony to the practice of this branch of his profession, while previously, in England, he was the pupil of and practised with the celebrated Dr. R. T. Culverwell, the only medical practitioner who ever exclusively adopted the as the sole branch of his profession. Dr. L. L. Smith hereby informs the public that " he is the only legally-qualified medical man in this speciality of his profession^" that all others advertising are unqualified, and that, therefore, in pretending to be qualified are obtaining money under false pretences. Passengsrs by the Tarama. TO TUB EDITOR. Sir-You will greatly oblige by inserting the enclosed letter, which was published in the Agc newspaper, showing the treatment we received on board the s.s. Tarama, from Port Darwin to Melbourne, and which I hope will act as a warning to other passengers that they will sec proper accomodation is made before leaving Port. If not, they may expect little mercy after. Hoping you will oblige. I am, Sir, &c., WILLIAM DANIELS. There are other matters that have not been touched on as yet, that is the food and water question. Let your readers fancy what we must have suffered, having no water but condensed water, and put down on the tables in large cans for the passengers to drink scalding hot as it ran from the worm of the condenser. Northern Territory Times. PALMERSTON: FRIDAY, JUNE 26, 1874. [Newspaper Article] — Northern Territory Times and Gazette — 26 June 1874

JjïorLt!tip S^rritorg ©ÍIMÍÍ. PALMERSTON : FRIDAY, JUNE 26, 1874. MINING COMMISSIONERS are but men, and all men will differ in opinion occasionally. But judges and others, who have judicial functions to per- form, ought not to parade their differences of opinion, and so weaken the respect which the public may have for their office or their position. On a recent occasion one of the Mining- Commissioners - the Chief Warden, Mr. Connor-went into the country j and in his absence the other two Commissioners, Messrs. Scott and Price, met and decided some pre- liminary matters, one of which we reported as follows in the Northern Territory Times : - " It was the opinion of the Commission that the Wardens have no right to interfere with claims taken out prior to March 1st, and it was resolved to advise Warden Frampton to that effect." This expression of opinion was no sooner published than Mr. Connor who everybody thought was gone up the reefs for at least a month hastened back to town again...

The Proposed Exploration to Blue Mud Bay. [Newspaper Article] — Northern Territory Times and Gazette — 26 June 1874

The Proposed Exploration to Blue Mud Bay. Subjoined is the letter of Mr. Giles, addressed to Mr. Mather, containing the .particulars of the scheme which has been set afloat for exploring the country between Pine Creek and Blue Mud Bay, in the Gulf of Car- pentaria : 1st. I have always been under the impression that a properly organized party to explore and prospect in this country would be attended with far better results and be more beneficial to the welfare of the country, besides offering to the general public here and elsewhere a more reliable source and guarantee as to the genuineness of any discoveries that may be made, than a host of private parties, badly equipped and probably unused to bush life, and inexperienced in regard to all matters pertaining- to gold. 2nd. I am of opinion also that to the eastward of the present reefs, but especially to the eastward of Pine Creek, a very large field is open to genuine prospectors ; and from what I have seen of the country towards th...
