Boy Scout Column. [Newspaper Article] — Nambour Chronicle and North Coast Advertiser — 16 March 1923

Boy Scout Column. (By LEAPING PANTHER.) I quote the following1 extract from j one of the entries for the M.irch Com petition as being a very suitable »ub- j ject for me to dwell on: 'I joined . because there is everything good a- 1 boul a Scout's teaching which will j help him in later years.' ; How true, but how very few Scouts j .?ealise this fact. j A boy cf scout age is generally loo j youns to fully understand the pool draining will do in later years. You ?ads,, whether you be of Cub or Rover - ace are growing up into the futurs , manhood of Queensland, and the wiy ;a ! which you start now to live your dit- ? ferent lives will be the nunner in which ? you will grow up. j The whole of the Scout Law is j written with the idea of helping lads j to live more manlike lives. A scout'* j honour is to be trusted; a scout obeys | orders and is cheerful. But if a Scout can only live up in j the Scout law, and nobody knows bet- ? ter than I how hard that is to do, then ! the world will be...
