The Late Mr. Hurley. [Newspaper Article] — The Campbelltown Herald — 23 March 1898

The Late Mr. Hurley. At the Campbelltown Police Court en Satur day morning last, reference to the death of Mr. P. B. Hurley was made from the Bench. The chairman (Mr. H. Winton) spoke briefly, remarking that he felt the loss of his brother magistrate very severely. Mr. Hurley, he said, was always upright and straightforward in dealing out justice, and he would therefore be very much missed by the public. Mr. Wm. Cummins followed, and in a few words said that the loss occasioned by Mr. Hurley's death was a very severe one to Camp belltown. In every respect — as a public offi cer and as a citizen — he was always willing to do his duty, and it would be many years be fore his plan would be filled so satisfactorily. He felt sure that everyone deeply lamented the death of Mr. Hurley. Mr. C. J. Passmore, speaking from the   solicitor's table, said he had met Mr. Hurley repeatedly, and had always found him to be upright, courteous, and a good magistrate. Perhaps be had made mis...
