BOY'S TERRIBLE ECZEMA . [Newspaper Article] — Ohio Farmer — 23 February 1907

BOYS TERRIBLE ECZEMA . Mouth and Eyes Covered with CJfusta —Hands Pinned Down—Miraculous Cure by Cuticura . When my little boy -was six months old , he had eczema . The sores extended so quickly over the whole body that we at once called in the doctor . We then went to another doctor , but he could not help him , and in our despair we went to a third one . Matters became so bad that he had regular holes in his cheeks , large enough to put a finger into . The food had to be given with a spoon , for his mouth was covered with crusts as thick as a finger , and whenever he opened the mouth they began to bleed and suppurate , as did also his eyes . Hands , arms , chest , and back , in short , the whole body was covered overand over . We had no rest by day or night . Whenever he was laid in his bed , we had to pin his hands down ; otherwise he would scratch his face , and make an open sore . I think his face must have itched most fearfully . We finally thought nothing could help , and I h...

THE DRAFT HORSE . —NO . 2 . [Newspaper Article] — Ohio Farmer — 23 February 1907

THE DRAFT HORSE . —NO . 2 . WIXX . IT PAY THE AVERAGE FARMER TO KEEP PXTRE-BRED DRAFT MARES ? ( By Prof . W . J . Kennedy , Iowa Agricultural College . ) ( Concluded from last week . ) It will pay the average farmer in this country to keep pure-bred draft mares . It does not cost any more to feed a pure-bred draft mare than it does to feed a grade mare of the same size . The pure-bred mare will do just as much work as the grade mare . One good , pure-bred stallion colt at one year old will readily command as much money as will a pair of highclass five-year-old grade geldings . The speaker has in mind at the present time a dozen or more farmers in Iowa , Illinois and Kansas who are using pure-bred draft mares to perform their fariii work , and in addition raising good colts from the mares each year . The stallion colts find ready sale when from one to two years , at from four to seven hundred dollars each . These men have settled the question as to whether or not It will pay to keep ...

ilCLEANSKIMMINGj ICreamSeparatorsB Clean skimming is the first consideration in the purchase of a cream separator . That is what you buy a separator to accomplish . But there are two kinds of clean skimming . One is pjj under ideal or favorable conditions—warm milk , from fresh Wmm cows , running thin cream , with reduced capacity . The other is under practical every-day farm use conditions—with milk sometimes warm and sometimes cool , cows as they come , cream as heavy as possible instead of as thin , and capacity large so that the work is finished that much more quickly . These two kinds of clean skimming mark the first great difference between the DE LAVAL and other kinds ol cream WM separators . There is a small but material difference between the DE LAVAL and the other kinds of machines under favorable conditions . There is a BIG difference under the practical every-day use conditions , — the difference between the AL-PHA-DISC system and other superior constructional features o...
