Receipts of Live Stock at the Union Stock Yards during: the past 24 hours 37 cattle, 2,275 hogs, and 75 calves. Ship ments 744 hogs. The cattle supply was very light but fully enough to meet the demand, which was small. There is no improvement to note either in prices or demand. Kansas City reports the market about 10 cents better, but it will probably decline that much again tomorrow. Hog receipts running way ahead of expectations. The competi tion was strong and market active. Early reports from eastern markets noted heavy runs and lower prices. This market opened 3 1-2 cents under yesterday's closing price, and by noon had declined to $3.37 1-2, at which price most of the hogs were sold. Pack ers tried to buy them still lower, but a buyer for the Armour Packing com pany stepped in and took thirteen loads at those figures. The market closed steady at the decline. WICHI...

Receipts of Live Stock at the Union Stock Yards during: the past 24 hours 28 cattle, 1,273 hogs, and for the week just closed 1,157 cattle, 10,850 hogs, 666 sheep, 75 calves and 65 horses. The bulk of the week's cattle supply were through cattle which -were held over for feed and rest. There "was a lit tle more activity on today's market, but not very many cattle changed hands. Speculators seem to have let the mar ket alone nearly all week. Today's close shows very little improvement in either demand or prices. Kansas City reported cattle about 10 cents higher.
