There are 253 students at the Dakota Agricultural college. The Milwaukee has put in two steam fire pumps at Milbank. A colony of southern negroes is to be established in Dakota. Grand Forks is making great prepara­ tions for its exposition. Sioux Falls proposes to have an ice pal­ ace and carnival next winter. The Catholics have built an Indian school at Stephen costing $10,000. Guy Weed, the Sioux Falls alleged de­ faulter, has not yet been arrested. Buffalo^ N. Y., Sept. 'f 14.—A dispatch from Silver Creek, Y., stays: A Niagara i- Palls excursion train on the fickle Plate zoad, under the management of J. W. But ler, excursion agent, collided with a local freight train in a cut on a curve just east of here, at 11 o'clock this morning. Lewis .•:Brewer was engineer on the freight train, and Wm. Harris engineer of the excursion train. Both engineers and firemen saved themselves by jumping. The excursion train consisted of one baggaire car, one smoker and eleven coaches.
