A C'lttCAMO UA.I11 OF POKKR. The most famous game of draw po ker on record was played in Chicago in 1839. The players were Charles H. Farwell and Hugh Maher. It seeems that Messrs. Farwell and Malier did not play a cash game. Experts in the great national gums assure us that it is impossible to play poker properly unless the ninuey is put up every tune, and it is altogether owing to the neglect of these players to con form to this commendable usage that they have "been involved in litigation which' promises to be lidious, irritating and unprofitable. At the end of the gam between Mr. Farwell and Mr. Maher it may have been a series of games, bu(, the principle is the same Mr. Maher found himself owing a con siderable sum $1,700. we believe to his opponent. According to his story, he ottered to settle soon afterward, but he says that Farwell raised him a thousand, or in tther words that he claimed (1,000 more than was really due him.
