CAMPBELL, FBEW & CO. EOITORb A>'D P-KOPKIKTOBS. H'EOSEMOAT BOBIS1SO, MARCH I t. ?Nooxe who knows Senator Wiiley will bo very ready to inspect him of radicalism, or of undue partiality in the past for the principles of the Re publican party, and yet, seeing, as in telligent and appreciative Union men everywhere must see, the dangers of the political situation, he writes to liis friends in Monongalia county thus: "Our welfare depends upon our ad herenco to the Republican party." Mr. Wiiley recognizes the plain fact, too evident to be mistaken, that al though the war is over, and the armies of the rebellion overthrown, yet still in the ashes of that rebellion "live its wonted fires," and that in this State there Is nothing between us and the re instatement of the old primal elements of the rebellion, save the great party that made us a State and preserved us a nation. The friends of West Virginia are within that organization, as they have been from the commencement, in Con gress...

tihtSntcUigtmtr. CAMPBELL, PBEW & CO. EDITOlus AND PKOPRIKTORS. HATDBDAT *OB5I*G, MARCH 17. In his leading editorial yesterday morning, we consider that Mr. Lamb virtually yields the con tint, fie "scat ters and' wastes bis fir? on matters of a personal and unimportant character. The only thing in the article that it poems necessary to notice is the loop hole he endeavors to reserve, that ad mitting that he advocated the disfran chisement of rebels, bo meant that bis measures should apply to the "leading rebels" only. In regard to this wo submit that whatever force this distinction might have if wo were dealing with rebels in Ciergia, it has none whatever in this latitude. We all recognize that in the Southern States where the politicians mould the mass of the people to their purposes, and where secession came like a tide there was no resisting, tho loaders who inculcated and inaugurated rebel lion are the guilty parties, and the masses who were dragged or driven into it by fear ...
