Thcro aro no feigns of resistance on tlio part of the people. The Western Virginia Convention is .still in session at Wheeling. North Carolina pnscd an ordinance of recession on Tuosdaj. ''Ooo more unfortunate." There was smart plirmisli near Ft. Monroe on Monday. Two II. S. ve,ttl opened fire upon some rebels engaged in erecting a battery on Scwall's Point. The battery was soon silenced, and the rebels "scattered." There are supposed to be about .0,000 rebel troops under arms in Virginia. Cortinas, tho Mexican guerrilla chief, is threatening thefexas f ronticr with a large force.
