The reason: Nike was growing unhappy with the amount of "control" it would have in Wie's career path. What if Adu or Wie were to suf- fer career-ending injuries? What would Adu and Wie do if they couldn't play their respective sports any longer? They'd have to try to reacclimate themselves to being kids again. Being a teenager isn't easy.
