INTERVIEW WITH TROOPER O'BRIEN.   As the result of an interview with Trooper O'Brien we append the following interesting account of the doings of the Australian Bushman, together with his personal experience while in South Africa :—   He said — I sailed from Australia with the first Australian Bushman corps under the command of Colonel Airey, who is a strict disciplinarian. We had a good trip to Capetown, where we stayed for two days, and sailed from there under sealed orders for Beira. On arriving there we were appointed to General Car- rington's brigade, who was in command of the garrison at Marandallas, about 600 miles from Beira. We stayed there about week, and were then sent under his orders to Bulawayo, a distance of 340 miles, doing the journey on foot in 17 days ; it was a forced march for the pur- pose of relieving Mafeking.
