Although , Mrs Lobb had been ailing for the 1 past few months, and was seriously • ill during the last fortnight, her death came as n great shock to her family and Iricnds. About a week ago Mrs Jyibb returned to Bax Grove, as llio climate here suited her belter, and it was thought that she would recover more quickly, but unhappily the change did not have the desired elfect. Mr Blakey at Nagambie. Senator Blakoy, ono of tho selected Labor candidates for the Senate, addressed about 100 olcctora in tho Stadium adjoining M'Donald's Hotel on Tuesday evening. Mr J. Furlong presided. Mr Blakoy said that the groat promise made by tho Liberal party had not been realised. Tlio people wero now practically iu the tliroea of an election, which would bo one oi the keenest and bitterest in tho history of self-government. Ho wa« not one to critiaise the action of a man who gave an honest opinion, but the action of Sir Ronald Muuro-Ferguson in granting a doublo dissolution was wrong. IIo did not blame tho Govcrnor-Gonoral, as ho under stood ho did what ho thought was right according to tho advice given. His action in granting that double dissolution had practically done away with tho functions of tho Senate. After tho kick-off Ingloman shone out and passed to Butlor, who seoured & goal. Slurohison ruck tboa brought it up and Dibbons and Farrelly saved.
