NEWS OF THE BRANCHES. Our Townsville Branch.— [Newspaper Article] — The Leader — 1 September 1919

NEWS OF THE BRANCHES. Our Townsville Branch. — This branch can only be said to have come into. being on the 18th July, when an inaugural meeting of Returned Soldiers and Citizens -was held and a committee formed. The operations for the month of July show ed a substantial' increase of membership, of which 60 per cent, are subscribers to the 'Leader.' Delegates have been appointed at Alligator Creek Meatworks, at Ayr and Hughenden, while negotiations .are in progress to establish our Federation in Charters Towers -and Cairns. A good deal of propaganda work has been done, the result of which is becoming evident. A very great factor in propaganda work is the ?.'Leader,' as it makes converts wherever it is read. For. this reason we must keep, it up to standard, as it sometimes falls into,,; critical hands. . For general information, and also for the encouragement of all Branches, a page of the 'Leader' has been set aside N for 'Our Branches.' This .will enable the country to see. what pr...
