THE BRAGWELL PAPERS. [Newspaper Article] — Wodonga and Towong Sentinel — 15 October 1886

THE BRAUWVELL A PAPERS. j I am a staunch advocate of good, healthy reoreation." I like to see such manly' sports as cricket, football, &c., as lbng as; they are indulged in with a duo regard` for the "proprieties." I think that a person can witness no finor sight tlhan that of young men putting forth muscular strength and skill in some cricketing:or boat-racing contest. I was a cricketer myfelf once on a small scale, and though sometimes I could "block a ball,l' "hit to leg," or oven "spoosn" a "buirpy one," I was more especially famed Cur miles round as being an adept in theart cf securing "duck eggs." That twasii'i special forte. I used to gain in ononseason more "eggs" tlhan could be laid by'thei most industrious duck that over quacked I I have been a boat sculler too, but gave up the exercise in consequence of haiving "caught a crab" that so severely injured my skull that the doctor said I{ would have sustained concussion of the brain if I had possessed such an orgain l;...
