INQUEST AT WALLAROO. An inquest was held at the Cornucopia Hotel, on Tuesday last, 28th March, by Mr Bews, J.P., and a jury of twelve, of which Mr Slack Cropley was chosen foreman, to inquire into the circumstances connected with a fire which bad occurred in an unoccupied house, belonging to M» R. Willshire, on the previous day. Mr R. J. Nobes was present to watch the proceedings on behalf of the South Australian Insurance Company, in which office the property was insured for £650. After tfes jury had been sworn an adjournment was made to the scene of the fire. On returning the following evidence was taken:— . Robert Willshire, teacher, Wallaroo. Mines. The first I heard of the fire was froib Mr Henry Heath, who called at the school about nine o'clock yesterday He told me my bouse on the port road was on fire, and that it bad evidently originated in the kitchen.
