OUR SHOW A meeting of the loc.il agricul tural society was held on Satur day evening last, the president, Mr. J. Lamrock, presiding over a fair attendance of members. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, on the motion of Messrs. Shiel and Sach. The Thoona Railsvay League wrote, asking the society to co operate and support a movement to urge the Government to open up the lime deposits in theDookie district.—Mr. Forer said the idea was a good one, as lime was an important factor in the growing of grain crops; He thought the society should assist in every pos; sible way in getting these lime deposits opened up. Wedding. GAKDN J£K—CAMM. The marriage of George Edward, Bon of Mr. G Gardner, " Bellevue," Dookie, to Ethel May, eldest daugh ter of Mr. II. Oatum, stationmaster, Dookie, was celebrated at St. Luke's Church nf England, Dookie, on Thursday, 24th September, by Eev. J. K. Taylor. The bride, tastefully attired in white silk, handsomely trimmed, was given away by her father, and was gracefully assisted by Miss Lily Camm and Miss Eene Gardner, who acted as bridesmaids. The bride groom was supported by Mr. L. E. Camm. The church had been beautifully decorated hy frieuds of the bride and bridegroom, and during the cere mony the local choir ably assisted in their capable rendering of suitable psalms and hymnp. The appearance of thrip in orchards around Shepparton is causing fruit growers some concern. The peat ia fuirly plentiful .it Ardmoua, together with green aphis, which ia very bud on the srusjl holdings on the Shep purton side of tho river. Settlers in most cases are malting strong efforts to kill the pests. In the Yarrawonga Court last Fri day, Mrs. M'llrov, of Cobram, was fined £1, with £7 Gs costs, on a oharge of having offered adulterated milk for sale. The evidence of an analyst disclosed that the rnilk con tained 9 per cent, of added water.
