To Avoid Sick Headache Many people suffer at regular in vals from sick headache. Generally, they can tell hours in advance, when an attack is coming on. The trouble is caused by accumulation of poison in the digestive organs, and wihen a certain point is reached this poison produces nausea and the at tack follows. If sufferers would take a dose .of IMnkettes, the new laxative, at in tervals, these distressing attacks* may fce avoided. Pinkettes ar^ dain ty little, sugar-coated ovals, that arouse no feeling of repulsion, and they act so gently that they areithe ideal laxative to use in correcting a tendency to sick headache. They have no unpleasant effect to make them objectionable to the extra sensitive sick-headache patient. Old fashioned, harsh purgatives- will not do at all in such cases. B you would like to try them, send tor a free sample to the Br. Williams' Medicine Co. Syd ney, mentioning that you read of them' in 'The South Coast Times.' ' Sold everywhere' Is. per bottle* *...

Letters from Private F. Muir [Newspaper Article] — South Coast Times and Wollongong Argus — 12 March 1915

Letters from Private F. JWitiir The following are extracts from letters from Private i(1. Mmr, irom Egypt, received by his family, Unan derru : ' 'O)ur hours of parade have been changed; we now march out at 9 o'cIock and return at 5pm. This means morp. w^rK- iiur ,w*- o-et. a. half-holiday on Saturday. We have, also a new parade ground, which is about five miles from the camp, in the direction of the Sakkarah Pyra mids. It is interesting to see here | how the cultivation comes out in broad sweeps to the limits of the j Nile overflow, and then ends abrupt jly on the desert edge. Otherwise the scenery is just the same as every | where else around her©— brown sand hills ,and blue sky. Part of our march lies through the native vill age of Kapi Ramiti; there are some | very fine houses in this village, but the back parts are dirty and very equalid- The domestic animals, pigs, goats, fowls and donkeys frequent the huts in perfect amity with the natives. The number of children is perfectly...

Home-made Cough Remedy iAj new idea in the Cough and Sold. Mixture line is introduced to our readers by an advertisement for Bean's Essence m this issue. It is well known that Cough Mixtures for general family purposes contain, and rightly too, a fairly . large propor tion of sweetening and water, but it remained for Mr. -&. W. Hean, 'a well known family chemist, of Wan gramu, Newi Siealand to commercialise the facjt. Realising that every moth er has one or more big empty bot tles in her pantry; and that she could add the necessary sweetening and water just as easily as be could in his pharmacy^ and ? use her big bottle for the finished mixture, Mr. Hean, with tiis' practical druggist's knowledge, originated, and developed a new concentrated essence. This he marketed a» 'Hean's Essence, ' a bot tle of which at a'-cost of 2s. makes! a full pint or 12/ worth, of as fine &. cough, cold and sore 'throat rem edy as money t can ljuy. This was disappoint ng to those del egates who had travelled somel dis tance to attend this mteetiwr. and it was rather surprising in. view of the importance of the question at issue. The meeting will take place on Sat urday next at 8 p.m., in the Con gregational School Hall, and dele gates should make it their business to attend.
