Tragedy at Narracan. A terrible occurrence, which nltwhieli to have a fatal ending and place a man on his trial for life, took place at the Six Mile Camp, on the Narradah Valley line, on Saturday night. The perpetrator of the deed is a navvy named Michael Cullen, and the victim his wife. It appears that   information reached Constable Goldsworthy of Moe, that a man had dangerously assaulted his wife at the camp, and   immediately on learning of the affair the   officer proceeded to the place and took the man into custody, and also ascertained the   particulars. He found on the night in question Cullen, who was employed on the line, and on going home he discovered his wife misconducting herself with another man. A Case of Suspected Murder. A coroner's inquest was hbld at. Cerowa on Thursday last, touching the death of a young man, name unknown, .who had been found in a paddock about a mile from the town in a dyingstate,' with a severe lacerated scalp wound and a fractured skull. The :medial testimony 'showed that it was quite impossible for the wound to have been self-inlicted, nor could it have been cauaped by a fall. Some sharp bhmlunt instnrnont must have boon naued. There was a camp of four Chineso in the same paddock, about 200 yards from where the body was found. In a lotter to the London "Sportsman," Shrewsbury denies that when arranging with the trustees of the Sydney Associa tion Ground to bring a team to Australia at the end of the present year he was aware that the Melbourne Cricket Club also in tendod doing so. Shrewsbury'a team leave England on the 18th September. Tih Melbourne Club team will include for certain Meorrs. G. F. Vernon, M. B. lHawke, W. W. Road, W. E. Roller, A. E. Stoddlart, and T. C.
