MORNING CALLS. . {By Grandmamma, in ¿he AuttUtUa&tan). " Le jeu no reut pas Ja AuuUlle." I BEAD lately a little paper by " Fancy Fern " in which, avowing herself to be " exercised " on the subject of evening parties, abe anim- adverts with sharp contempt upon the manifold absurdities and discomforts with which she finds them replete. MEDICAL MEN AND ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. [Newspaper Article] — Rockhampton Bulletin — 23 March 1872

MEDICAL HEN AND ALCOHOLIC DRINKS. WHILE Mr. Bass is demanding attention, to the alleged evils of our railway eervico the medical world is beginning to complain of tbe mischief arising from the improper use of the drinks from the manufacture of which bo and other ' brewers derive such princely revenues. Some medical men even goeo far as to receive _ a percentage on the sales of alcoholic drinks recommended by them. At any rate, they are among the most - brewer or distiller. The result of ttiis has been a widely prevalent suspicion that the medical profession, ns a class, support, from interested motives, tho use of alcoholic liquors. This has led | to the publication of the following ' important docum...
