Methodist Foreign Mission, On Sunday week special services were hold in thu ftlethodist Church, Casino, hi connection with the Foreign Mission Society. Thu Rov. E. W. Canst, from thu fcjouth Sea Islands, otliciated as preacher for tho day and succeeded 111 impressing his congregation with a con ception of tho importance of missionary enterprise. On the Monday night fol lowing the same gentleman lectured 'to a fairly large gathoiing in the church, 'deal- ing specially with tho work in Fiji and Rotiuna. Air. A. C. Simpson, J.P., was in the chair, and in intioducing tho speaker loferred to the difficulties and dangers of the pioneer work. Mr. Canst said that much had been done in Fiji, by tho Methodisv Mission, and those people who wore but a short period ago abandoned to cannibalism wore now converted to Christianity.
