THE OTTAWA FREE TRADER. Klol, BlMilihrd nad IHardrr. On Monilay and Tuesday evenings last, Philadelphia was the scene of a more bloody and murderous riot, than was ever before witnessed in our country. We gather the following particulars from the Times : A mass meeting of the Native American party took place on Monday afternoon, on the lot, at the corner of Second and Master streets, Kensington. Thi meeting was held in consequence of a previous gathering of the Ametiean party, in Kensington, being attacked and dispersed by a mob of the Irish citizens of that district on Friday night last. About four o'clock, upwards of 500 persons assembled on the lot and organized. The meeting was addressed by Lewis C. Levin, but was interuptud by the violence of the gust which sprung up about this time. The meeting then adjourned to Washington street market, in the centre of which the American flag was planted, and a stand erected. Previous to the meeting adjourning to the maiket house, a large nu...

THE OTTAWA FREE TRADER. A combination of sucli unusual faculties, enjoyed by audi an extensive and fertile territory, cannot fail to hasten the development of its resources, and to make this canal the medium of a great and permanent trade. The southern and northern routes must necessarily become competitors for the trade, upon this immense line of navigation ; and the point where tho ground will be undisputed, will depend upon the kind of merchandize and the charge for freight. Some productions of the north will bo in constant demand at the south, while some production of the south will find an unfailing market in the north, hut those commodities which are destined to reach tide-water, will take that direction which will promi.se the greatest profit. Tho northern will lie most estecun d for provisions and bread sluiTs, as the heat of low latitudes is found to he prejudicial. The extensive mills in Canada and NV.v York, for the. manufacture ( flour, will have also their influence n t...

The 'immediate and deplorable consequences of this outbreak are, the unhappy condition of the bereaved fami lies of the murdered and the sufferings on the wanderers in the country, afraid to return to the city without means to advance hungry destitute, without shelter, sleeping on the bare earth, nml without clothing.
