LOCAL TOPICS. Thos. Durry on Thursday last sold 9,000 acres of land to the Walla Walla Live Stock Co. comprising Dr. Frank Beese, Harry Turner, Paul Compton and other wealthy men. The tract • lies on Cow creek some fourteen miles southeast of town, is entirely enclosed, partially stocked, with 300 head of cattle* provided with 700 tons of hay which are also included in the tran saction. The latter named gentleman will have charge of the company's newly acquired property. The ranch will be heavily and fully equip|ied this year with all the fine stock it will support. William C.
