This was done in order to allow the Collector and Treasurer more time to perfect their settlements and furnish the required reports of thei outstand ing taxes and the condition of the par ish treasury. No rain yet, and cistern water is becoming a scarce commodity in many households. A beantiful crop of dust is visible upon the streets, and every little breeze fills the atmos phere with it, making it still more visible, but rather closing out the view of other earthly objects.
