AGRICULTURAL Mineral aud other Manures. ft has been found that the functions of vegetation correspond in some re spects with thoc of animal growth. Plants may be said to require food, and they have all the organs Ntecessary to assithilate it. The tender fibres of the root absorb the sap, or the juices on which the animal growth depends. The stems convey these juices to the light and the air. The leaves are the lungs, as requisite for the healthy de velopment of the plant as the roots themselves. By the same process-the analysis of the pl;lat-we b-arn in what the re lative Certility if any soil ennsists, for it is oovi.t.s that the tert::ity of any soil mist be relative to the plant ...
