I THE SACHSE NEWS Shining on the community, events and people of Sachse Publisher Chad B. Engbrock Managing Editor Donnita Nesbit Fisher Judy Jekyll and Beebee Hyde Judy Truesdell Mecca I'm afraid I may have a split personality, like in "The Three Faces of Eve" or "Cybil." Or maybe more like in "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Most of the time I'm Judy; a seemingly normal, reasonably well-adjusted wife and mother who I lives in Wylie, writes children's plays, performs comedy, takes part in that Wylie Band activities, and writes a column for that Wylie News. But now and then, a crass, rowdy woman rears her ugly head and shoves Judy right out of the way. I'm not sure what her name really is, but I think of her as Beebee. It's when I'm at a football game that Beebee usually slaps me out of the way. I'll be sitting in a stadium, minding my own business, eating peanuts and trying not to get the shells down in my shoes. "Go, Pirates, go!" I'll yell, the picture of good sportsmanship. Suddenly, ...

®IPJMO©W With millions, what is too young? Nike has once again gotten its way. The shoe con- glomerate has taken another child and bought it. I use the pronoun "it" because that's how Nike sees its latest investment, teen phenom golfer Michelle Wie, a high school junior in Honolulu. Wie isn't the first child Phil Knight and his Nike cronies have gone alter in the past few years. Their first target was last year when they inked Freddy Adu, a then-14- year-old to a multi-million dollar endorsement deal as he was drafted by D.C. United of Major League Soccer. Adu has enough money to, if managed wisely, live a good life on, but is he happy? On a "60 Minutes" interview last year, Adu came across as a geneti- cally created robotic soccer player, it's all he knew. All of his "friends" were in their 20s and 30s and half of his team- . mates resented him for getting so ■much attention at the tender age of 14.
